Oy - so I am very cash poor until the end of the month and I get home last night and sitting in my nice little mailbox is a check for $10 because I took a phone survey on birth control methods. Great timing I think and I trundle down to Bank of America becuase that's where the check is drawn on (my bank is a credit union and doesn't do cash except from ATMs). I get to my friendly neighborhood B of A and they tell me in their friendliest tone that they would be happy to cash my check, for a $5 fee since I don't have an account with them.

Ugh.
