I agree... is there any reason not to? you definitely won't get it if you don't try for it. If you're right about the job market, then maybe you won't get it, but nothing ventured, nothing gained! and you never know what might happen. Make sure you mention you're not able to come for an interview because you're *in* *uzbekistan* *on* *a* *fullbright*! they might not mind. :)
