I'm starting to realize just how evil corporations are at their core. They basically cannot deal with human needs and exceptions. If you don't fit into one of their pre-set categories they can't help but screw you. And they have trained their staff not to make exceptions and their managers never to change policy.

Best buy today was insane - 90 minutes of time in the store, no fixed computer, no date when computer will be ready and the refund for my "premium" service plan has to be shipped to CA and can't be given to me in the store where I could actually use it.

Needless to say - after I use the gift certificate/refund I will be shopping at Frys.

I think corporations aren't so much evil as amoral. There's no concept of "do the right thing" (or the wrong thing). The concept is just "make more money".

At least, that's true for publically traded corporations.

see I happen to think that the motivation "make more money" is inherently evil if it isn't tempered by ethics, ethical practices, and humanity.
