I'm not what you'd call 100% certain. I don't think we're talking about controlling the behaviour of nice people, and I think we are talking about academics. A 'smart' and 'nice' person is going to have their work stolen by an 'inappropriate' academic; a 'cute' one is just going to look nice giving a presentation....

Well, ok, there are many kinds of inappropriateness in academia. I just suspect there are a hundred authorship theives for every rapist. Not, you know, that I think we want more rapists.
