The summit fire had no human casualties, but the Taj Meow animal sanctuary was burned to the ground. I'm not trying to give people advice as to where to spend their philanthropic dollars, but if you want to help, here's a link that has a bit of the story and another link with the paypal button.

I've volunteered at the ASPCA in New York and at the Lange Foundation in LA; stray animals have a place in my heart, which broke a little when I heard about this story. Needless to say it is the end of the month and there aren't many resources to kick around, but I was moved to paypal them just a little.
