tell me again why I agreed to do this?

I know I'm going to have a fun and productive time in NYC if I ever get there, but egads I am caught in the vortex of suck that is airtravel in the post-9/11 era.

At least I remembered to pack a sandwich.

Right now I'm stuck in Chicago Midway, and will find out just how much longer I will be sitting in the airport in approximately 90 minutes. (My flight was supposed to leave in 15 min). According to my uncle who so benevolently offered to pick me up at the airport in NYC, flights in have been delayed about 2:30.

LAX was also a zoo and I couldn't check in at the little screen kiosks, so I had to wait for a human teller...luckily car traffic was light so I was there in plenty of time.

hmmmmm...with all this free time, maybe I should revamp my conference paper.

not that i think you're going to get this in time....

there's really good food at midway. specifically a chicago-style bar. can't remember which concourse, but it was awful tasty...

What are you going to NYC for? A conference??

good luck on the rest of your trip. I spent much of the day with my itinerary: two cities, two towns, two dentist appointments in two weeks. Followed by my new job. yay.

NYC is grand -- will you have enough time for fun? I'm sorry we didn't chat much at D's. I'm a huuuuge art fiend and so am jealous of you...
