I'm so disappointed! I just learned that the Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park here in Santa Cruz is NOT named after the composer (who I believe also lived on the West Coast). Instead it was named after some limestone miner/businessman. *sigh* I suppose composers are rarely rich and philanthropic enough to have big parks named after them.

When I go camping up there, I usually camp at Henry Cowell. I love it!

I plan on checking it out this week--I've heard it's gorgeous, but so far EVERYTHING seems like it's gorgeous.
