Shame he couldn't stay for Licht (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/3735922.stm), but then with such a creative force there's never going to be a right time to go.

Heard about his passing on NPR. I don't think I could sit and listen to his 'music' for long... and this coming from a Tom Waits fan, mind you. But it was awesome that he did it.
