Big Sur!

Hurray! The Bosnian and I have been talking about having a short getaway for a while, but things have been frighteningly busy with moving, work, family stuff, etc.

Last minute (per usual) we decided to try and go somewhere for the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. After mulling over the possibilities, we settled on Big Sur for it's close by location and nature-y goodness. I managed to reserve the last tent cabin available at Fernwood this morning.

My nefarious plan is to gradually undo my Bosnian's prejudices about camping being uncomfortable, unsanitary, and undesirable (muahahahahah). Liberal doses of smores and fire-roasted sausages, hot showers, and breakfast at Cafe Kevah should do the trick.

I'm really looking forward to getting away, even though I need to write a conference paper and keep up with my schoolwork that weekend. That's what Sunday and Monday are for!

You'll be driving through our neck of the woods on your way there. Maybe we could do lunch, or come down to Big Sur and grab a bite at Cafe Kevah/brunch at Deetjen's with you?

Oh, have fun! Lance and I were just in Big Sur last weekend. We had lunch at a lovely little spot just off PCH- there's some cute artsy shopping and the food is really quite good!
