(no subject)

argh, I wanted to go visit my older brother over spring break with the free ticket I'd gotten from getting bumped off a flight after a conference. Unfortunately he's at a conference M-F of the week that my spring break is, and I proctor a final the thursday of finals week. Now I don't know what to do. I haven't seen my brother in over a year (not that this is abnormal for us), and I was looking forward to seeing him and getting to know him a little again. Oh well, I guess this is what happens in families with multiple phd students.

ARGH!

One more reason why I'm such a luddite! Remember when you used to be able to look up a book on a card catalogue? A cataloge that was tangible and never broke down because, well, it was made of paper and wood and real things that have nothing to do with electronics or servers? Oh how I miss those days.....

I am trying to order esoteric Russian Folklore texts from the Southern Regional Library Facility so that I can pick them up tomorrow becuase I don't want to have to come all the way into campus on Wednesday for no other reason than to pick up library books. If I order them tonight they should be there after 3pm tomorrow. However the fricking catalogue is down and I can't do anything! Stupid technology.
