I'm still drowning in exams, but R finally left yesterday night so hopefully I'll be better at getting things accomplished. It was very hard to have him leave - he was here for almost 3 weeks and I got very attached to the idea of having him around in my everyday life - I need to live with this boy.

After he left I watched Mona Lisa Smile with [livejournal.com profile] dcicuto while I graded the final for Psych of Film Music. I thought the movie started out really strong, but kind of chickened out in the end - it was a very Hollywood ending and I wanted a little more poignancy. I also think that they ascribed a lot of 21st century post modern thought onto 1950s people, but I didn't live in that era, maybe I'm just assuming that. Still a very fun movie - I'm glad I didn't live through that era of history, though I see a lot of similarity to the traditional family values that the mucky mucks in politics seem to be pushing for.

and now......a meme )

argh! there must be crap flying through the air at the moment.

My lovely and daisy-competent partner left to go back to Livermore last night. Daisy knows this and is a vengeful beast (errrr....car). She despises being left alone with me and so has decided to undo all the work R did on her. I got in and drove to the Trader Joes today - her brakes are spongier than they were before R fixed them, I now have no horn (R replaced it), my e-brake must be propped locked, and none of the guages work even though all the fuses are intact. Oh and she of course still doesn't have windsheild wipers because she no longer takes a 68 wiper moter - sometime in her history she got modified and the original (which R went to the junkyard and bought) won't fit.

Joy - anyone want a daisy? I'll sell her cheap.
