Apr. 10th, 2004 11:28 pmokay - I am now a bassoon player for real again.
I am playing my friend/trio mate's recital in 2 weeks.
Turns out the invite to her recital that she sent me a couple of weeks ago was not just an invite to *come* to the recital, it was an invite to *play* on her recital. So my trio is playing for her recital on Tuesday April 27th at Cal Arts in Santa Clarita - anyone who wants to become acquainted with this bizzare side of my life is welcome to come.
Bear in mind I picked up the baroque bassoon yesterday for the first time since last summer. Parts of it was painful, but my trio thinks I sound okay and is amazed that I haven't been practicing.
I think that is more a reflection of the scarcity of baroque bassoon players than of my come-back talents.......
