Aug. 1st, 2004 08:48 amI actually feel like I slept in today - I managed to sleep until 8. This silly class has me programmed to wake up even earlier than I usually want to with my morning-oriented self. How dismal. I really would like to be able to sleep past 7 on a day when I don't have much to do.
I can't get over how beautiful Mt. Ranier is. Also there are inns in the park that are so quaint and historic and beautiful - when I'm flush enough to afford an $89/night hotel room I'd love to come back and stay for a while. It is such an idyllic location, and it would be lovely to wake up in a comfy bed with nice linens and be able to just right on the trail which is already half way up the mountain. I do like camping, but something about that luxury is really appealing.
I think N-opa was impressed - I don't think there are habitats anything like that in Uzbekistan and she seemed to really enjoy the sights and getting to climb into the river from the waterfall run off. I was a little concerned about modesty issues when R and I got our kit off and swam in our undies, but when we asked if we were embarrassing her, she said "no, I'm proud of you!" She is such a sweet lady.
Today we have a potluck with R's friends from work which should be fun too. I haven't decided what to make, but R is making pie that he never got around to on my birthday.
