soon I can get back to my Uzbek life
Nov. 7th, 2004 08:21 amThings are kind of stressful right now. I am trying to finish and submit 3 grants this week - the last deadline is Nov. 15. That is also the day that Ramadan ends and I have to give my conference paper in Uzbek on the 16th. They have put me in the plenary session so that they can have an "international" conference. I find this amusing for some reason. But the plenary session will have powerpoint capabilities, so that will be fun. I will not start dealing with that until I have my last grant written though. I finished Spencer Foundation in draft form last night, and I will have AAUW by the end of today.
R and I have been kind of snippy at one another for the past few days - it is not a good thing, but we've talked about it. I think we're both a little raw and hyper sensitive. The bottom line is that until R has better language skills, I think we're going to be stepping on each others' feet from time to time. But his Uzbek is coming along, a month from now when we have accreditation and R has more Uzbek I think the stress will lighten. All my deadlines will be past as well. After the 15th, no more grant applications until March - hurrah!
