Nov. 28th, 2004 02:34 pmIt's been a very slow start to Sunday. I'm not sure what to cook to try to follow up the pumpkin bread disaster, but I can't go out becuase I'm feeling a little poor today. It turns out we have a phone bill here this year thanks to the fact that we have a 7 digit phone number instead of a 6 digit one. R went with our landlord yesterday to pay it and it turns out that every minute of local phone use costs us 2/10ths of a cent. It added up to almost 20 dollars thanks to all the downloads and internet use of the last 6 weeks. It was quite a shock to have to deal with that large a bill, especailly when I'm used to the phone being free - the phone charges plus the internet charges still make it cheaper than an internet cafe, but not by as much and R and I have been using the internet with impunity lately.
We also have a long list of people we need to visit that we haven't seen in a while due to getting sick and Thanksgiving and everything. My friends/acquaintances tend to take it very personal if we drop of the radar for a while - I have to be careful to keep people from thinking we "forgot them." For some reason the concept of getting busy or reclusive just doesn't seem to exist in this culture, at least in the circles I run in.
