Jun. 8th, 2005 07:25 amWell I'm so not in the mood to do anything today. Malika opa never showed up for our lesson yesterday - I assume she was busy prepping her students for exams because she's leaving for Samarqand tomorrow, I believe. Still I would have liked a phone call - I called her house, but it was either busy or no answer. Oh well.
In a fit PMS induced need for planning, I started looking at housing costs in CA on the interweb. Santa Rosa, although both R and I really like it, is out because of cost and because there are no flights from Sonoma County Airport to LA. We're talking about maybe moving south to Santa Clarita or Santa Barbara, but those are expensive and hot, and although I'd be able to drive to UCLA, I'm not sure it is worth it, especially since we are trying to spend one more year in a place where R can see his family and friends fairly easily. It looks like the Sacramento area is going to be the best thing. I can always get to the Davis library, or schlep to Berkeley if there is something I really need, and the flights from Sac are the same price as from Oakland (i.e. $150). Best of all, 1 bdrm apartments are looking feasible at $500-600 a month. So for now I think moving to Sac next year is the plan. For some silly type-A, control freak, OCD reason, I feel much better just having a plan.
