metabolism

Oh man, I need to go into the gym and have my metabolism tested. The glitch is that I can't eat or drink anything besides water before hand. My appointment is for 8:15. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal. I usually wake up at 7:30 and would have had 1/2 and hour to get ready and get to the gym and that's not THAT long to wait to eat. Unfortunately I woke up WIDE AWAKE at 6 AM. It is now 7:15 and I am STARVING!!!

Those who know me well know that I wake up hungry and ready to do a bunch of work in the mornings. I am the quintessential morning person (much to the chagrin of my husband and pretty much anyone I've ever lived with). I know lots of people who wake up not wanting food for hours. I'm sure this metabolism test would be great for them. For me it is torture. I'm already starting to feel that edgy/shaky feeling from not eating. What a bummer.

Good things for today: had my metabolism measured and the trainer attacked me with calipers. I weigh the same as I did about a month ago (well actually I lost 1/2 a lb), but there is more of the right kind of stuff. My %body fat dropped by 2.5% and my lean muscle mass went way up.

My measurements all dropped except my bust. I am one of the few women I know who would be happy to lose a few cup sizes and it's just never going to happen.

Also I submitted my application to the University of Sheffield - 1 app. done, many more to go. Still, it's an achievement, and my advisor liked my cover letter and offered only cosmetic changes to it.

Bad thing for today: R is in the middle of a really really bad bout of insomnia - nothing seems to help - I feel pretty powerless against it.
