Nov. 24th, 2005 07:54 amI'm back from Atlanta and have been too exhausted and my head too full to update. It went well, technical difficulties aside. Boy am I glad I ignored my advisor's advice to do powerpoint though, since I didn't see one presentation that was fully functional with powerpoint at the conference. Heck they couldn't even manage to get the visual on my video example. Note to self - low tech is often best.
So now I'm prepping thanksgiving dinner for the in laws. It will be small, 5 ppl: me, R, dad-in-law, sis-in-law, and her SO. I'm not going overboard with the meal, since we don't have the kitchen to support it and I really am glad I went out to Indian last night and saw harry potter with my husband instead of staying home and doing pre-cooking stuff.
So the menu will includs:
13lb turkey
apple sage stuffing
yams
mashed taters
green beans
can o' cranberry sauce (a tradition from my childhood, I like it better that homemade)
apple cobbler
pumpkin pie (brought by sis-in-law's SO)
coconut custard pie (from the freezer, bought by dad-in-law)
Alaska smoked alder beer
wine
iced tea
