Jun. 11th, 2006 07:28 amI swear that in my lifetime I've seen the notion of war redefined. The triple suicide in Guantanamo Bay has been classified as an act of war by the US government. So does that mean that the folks who are imprisoned there are POWs? If so doesn't that mean that they have rights that have not been granted to them? Spooky, but here's what BBC has to say about it - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/5068606.stm
Also, I think this is one of the few times that I have resented my network-only TV. There is no mention of the world cup, much less any coverage.
I've survived 2 highschool graduations in the span of the last few days and am now spiffying up my dissertation and getting ready to head down to LA on Tues. I'm hoping to get there soon enough to see the ruler lady in the library before closing time. Everyone says that meeting with her before trying to submit the thesis is very important.
