the weekend

nisaa and it was super fun and activity levels ranged over a spectrum from couch-slug to social butterfly.
Friday night we had beers and Far Scape (the couch slug part). Saturday morning we walked the sophie puppy and then we went to the Olympic Spa, which was amazing and so relaxing. It was only $15 for unlimited mineral soaks and jacuzzis and steam rooms and nice stuff. I think I'm going to take some of the money that iyindo and others have recently bestowed on me for stress-eliminating purposes and buy a 10 session punch card. We never got around to dying nisaa's hair again, but she still looked stunning as we went off shopping and then to her birthday soiree at the King's Head Pub (I think that was what it was called). I splurged on a little bit of LUSH goodies for myself, so I can keep the spa-vibes going on my own. At dinner I had a cornish pastie and some mediocre imported beer and most importantly I was really good about being social (there were others on hand to play the role of socially awkward recluse anyhow). I got to talk to some friends I haven't seen since returning to UZ and some others that I'd heard so much about that I felt like I'd met them even though I hadn't. Toward the end of the evening, someone decided to try to debate me on the ethics/worth of various musical acts - it was amusing and managed to stay good natured. All the same, I question the utility of trying to attack me on my intellectual turf (I wasn't trying to tell him what was right and wrong about cardiac surgery after all), but it was amusing enough for all involved and noone got hurt.
I ended up crashing one more night at nisaa's and drove home this morning. I ended up getting nice veggies and fruits at the Encino farmers market and now I just need to plan my classes for the week and probably go to the beach with iyindo.
