1 gig for $20!
Nov. 12th, 2006 04:19 pmWow - in a feat of absent minded professorness, I put my flash drive through the washing machine. (My excuse is that it doesn't usually live in my pockets, but I loaned it to someone so they could put my diss. on their laptop, and when they returned it I was in the middle of something and shoved it in my pocket without thinking).
So I needed to pick up and new one and WOAH technology has sped up/gotten bigger and cheaper by leaps and bounds in the last year or so. I just got a 1 gig drive for $20 at Staples! I usually get the $20 stick, whichever that is, and I think it was 64 mb for my first one years ago. The first one I got after coming home from UZ was 128 and when that busted I think I got 256. I was hoping for 512 this time, to keep with the incremental increases, but no - they had a sale on 1 gig ones - I'm amazed and wondering what kind of high density naughty things I can now carry with me on my person without my laptop.
