Feb. 5th, 2007 07:55 pmnote to self - you are MUCH MUCH happier and more compassionate to others if you've broken a sweat in the last 24 hours. Skipping a weeks worth of workouts because of workload, stress, illness, and travelling might seem excusable, but it is not.
Went for a jog at sunset at the marshlands preserve - SO SO SO beautiful! The sunset was amazing and there were so many birdies. Plus there was sweat and lots of it and for a while I was actually running, as in serious forward motion, legs pumping, striding kind of running, rather than the bouncy jogging to get the heart rate up that I usually indulge in.
A raised heart rate was achieved for 20 minutes and it couldn't have come with a more beautiful setting (well aside from the views of Balboa Ave. and the Target).
