Apr. 13th, 2007 01:28 amwhew finally made it - I am cozy in my uncle's apartment with a really nice glass of pinot grigio and some internets before bed.
I've looked up where I have to go tomorrow and confirmed what time I have to be there (thank heavens it isn't until 2 p.m.)
This was by far the most eventful journey I've had since my food poisoning debacle in Atlanta on my way Boston...or maybe my last trip to Central Asia - I forget which was more recent. I think the food poisoning, but only by a few months. Wow - that was a doozy.
But still - when I finally landed, 4 hours late, at midnight (we had the joy of sitting on the tarmac in Chicago for 45 min with the heaters on full blast, god knows why) - my uncle had called the car service to pick me up. I trundled my things into the sedan and we'd figured out where I was going, and oooops - the Hutch parkway was closed....so my driver got us kinda lost in the Bronx. After a call to my uncle to guide us in off of a different freeway, I managed to get in, get some hugs, towels for a shower in the morning, and logged into their GIGANTIC computer. Seriously - they have a mac pro and this monitor is HUGE. I think I might need one for my office when I go buy myself a work compy.
Okay time to fall down and go boom.
