Aug. 22nd, 2007 10:24 amI like it when things work out evenly :)
I took back the recycling at Von's and got $3.68 back. (I also got to hear a man's saga of becoming a can collector** - I always wonder how people started that) I then entered Von's to purchase disposable cake tins (wasteful, but useful since they'll be travelling to Las Vegas) and a set of birthday candles. My purchase cost me $3.51. I profitted $.17 from the venture.
Of course now that I'm back home I realize that I also need brown sugar and eggs to make said cake, but I'll have to aquire that later.
**According to this particular can/bottle collector, a neighbor told him to set his beer bottles beside the dumpster so that people who were looking for them didn't have to make noise climbing in and out, so eventually he started recycling his own bottles, and then when he lost his job he started foraging full time.
