what a jip!

So I just had my big scary oral Uzbek final - what a jip. The prof (who I love and respect dearly) took this opportunity not to cover all the material from the class that I spent the past 3 days meticulously memorizing (plus I made a really flash timeline), but instead to ask me my opinion on the use of folk musics as a vehicle for nationalism (which I just wrote a paper about), and to talk about travellers accounts of central asia and the music therin from the 19th century. All very thrilling and useful to me - but it has NOTHING to do with the class that I took. I just spent 3 days memorizing dates, miracles, the 8 levels of heaven and the tax on 124 camels (1 four-year-old female camel) and I feel jipped. I know that it is useful to have learned that stuff anyway, but I am a prideful woman and wanted to show off that I actually learned it.
