So I had a bit of a dinner party after my doira masterclass last night, and felt so brilliant for putting dinner in the crockpot so that my guests wouldn't have to wait as I cooked.

Dinner turned out great, but we came home from the class to a severely cracked crockpot lid. It was NOT salvagable. So now my crockpot (which gets weekly use) is out of commission until I get a new lid or a whole new thing.

Anyone know of a way to just replace the lid, or am I stuck shelling out the moolah for a whole new deal?

It just seems so wasteful to have to throw away a perfectly good crockpot because of a busted lid.

Try searching around local thrift shops and the like, there's lots of random glassware to be found there, and if not, a whole new unit there will cost much less.

Seconding the thrift shop idea. Maybe get in touch with the maker of your crock pot and ask if just a lid is something they could get you? Or maybe freecycle?
