What a long day! I got a lot accomplished thought. I went to planned parenthood after class (I got to miss the last 2 hours - yay!)
Planned Parenthood has given me 2 diaphragms (incase one breaks while I'm in Uzbekistan) and 5 packs of planB, the morning after pill (actually you can take it up to 3 mornings after). They encouraged me to take the planB just incase something happens while I'm over there. The doctor who did my fitting was really amazing - she was so positive and she uses the FAM method herself, so she was really encouraging. She said she used it to avoid pregnancy and to plan both her children. She conceived both on the first try. She mentioned the plus that the FAM method as been around for years, certainly a lot of the other methods I've used haven't been.
They took my blood pressure again and it is still down, but not perfect, 132/87 That is a lot better than 150/90. Still needs work and I've been shopping for more fruit to try and avoid eating junk. I've also added an extra 15 minutes to my cardio workouts. I'm not sure what else I can do because the stress in my life isn't going to disappear anytime soon, though having visas and plane tickets will help.
I had an extra long work out at the gym - I got entranced by MTV. There is really something to be said about having those screens up. I was sweating the time away and not noticing because I was so involved in the MTV beach house. That's kind of sad, but at least I was working my cardiovascular system on the hamster wheel machines while getting wrapped up in junk TV.
Then I went to the fruit and veg market and bought lots more white flesh peaches. Why the heck are they so much tastier than normal peaches? I can't figure it out, but I love them! Is it just the novelty? Am I kidding myself when I think they have a crisper, less sickly sweet taste?

Date: 2004-08-11 08:18 am (UTC)R has a latex allergy, so condoms are a very expensive option for us. Also, he's also allergic to nonoxynol 9. With a diaphragm the spermicide stays cupped against my cervix, so R won't have to come in contact with it. It is the better option for us, and statistically a diaphragm with spermicide is more effective than condoms without spermicide.
