Poor R is allergic to Pennsylvania (and our house full of animals). Ever since the anise allergic reaction he has been mainlining claritin and still snuffly.

I went to aerobics with my mom today and that was fun. I noticed a little bit of god-rock mixed in the music selections which bothered me a little and on the way home my mom mentioned that the instructor is moving to NC in a few years so her husband can go to seminary. I really don't want jesus with my step aerobics, but I guess I can't blame someone for designing a routine around music that they like.

Also there was a woman who had taken a year off and joined Curves. Does anyone know any more details about that franchise? I've heard horrible things about the owner's religious fervor and that he encourages people to use Curves as an opportunity to evangelize. But it's a franchise, right? So not every Curves is going to be brimming over with relion, I assume.

Gary Heavin (the founder of Curves) is a pro-life zealot. He has contributed money to several pro-life organizations. However, as Snopes points out (love the lovely Snopeses):

Gary Heavin is far from the first successful businessman to underwrite reproductive causes — Tom Monaghan of Domino's Pizza and Carl Karcher, founder of the California-based hamburger chain Carl's Jr., have been very open and public regarding their support of the pro-life philosophy, just as Warren Buffett, ranked by Forbes magazine as the second-richest man in the world, has been forthcoming about his backing of pro-choice programs. In each instance, these men are acting as private citizens who choose to bestow parts of their fortunes on the causes they believe in, not as officers of their corporations. The money is theirs to do with as they please, just as anyone's paycheck belongs to the person who earns it and stops being the employer's money at the moment it is paid out. That a spendthrift employee might choose to gamble away his earnings doesn't mean the company he works for supports gambling; likewise, that a wealthy man financially supports particular causes doesn't mean the corporation that paid him the money favors those movements.

So you should be safe :) Sarisa's mum really liked them, and my mom even did them for a bit.

well I'm certainly not planning on joining curves anytime soon. Though I am hoping to join a gym in UZ.

R and I will be heading up your way on Tues. Can you email us specific directions? We should be in late-ish Tues evening and if it isn't a bother will spend Wed. night and leave Thurs.
