Jul. 21st, 2004 12:33 pmOh man I have indulged in some made consumer indulgences lately - I have been going to the gym like a good girl and even avoiding the nice smoothie shop strategically positioned at the exit of the UW fitness center. Yesterday I gave in and replaced all the calories I burned (and then some) with a peach raspberry smoothie that was amazing and lasted me the entire 25 minute walk home.
And I just finally bought a curtain for the open layout of our studio apartment - there is a separate bedroom area, but it is behind the bathroom area and there is no door between the two like there is between the bathroom and the kitchen/public area. A while ago R and I bought a tension rod with the idea of putting a curtain up, but were balking at the price of curtains at the thrift stores ($8-10). I had to go to the bank for my lunch time and while I was on the Ave (the shopping thoroughfare in the U district) I went into the import shop. I found a lovely tapestry cutrain with celtic knotwork and a pentacle - I had to have it. It was only $14, so I feel okay about it, but I feel silly for dropping more cash than the curtains we skipped at the thrift store because they were so expensive.
