Jun. 13th, 2005 01:45 pmNow I get to confront the behemoth that is the Ministry of Sport and Culture and all of its red tape. I have conncections with people who work their through some of my contacts at the conservatory and music colleges, so I thought I had a chance of having this go smoothly. Oh no - silly me!
After talking to the person I have a conncetion with and getting ferreted up to the methodology dept., my conversation was interupted and I was taken to some kind of middle manager's office. He basically told me that of course he *could* give me all of this information because it is free and available to to the public, but he doesn't want to get in trouble with his superiors, so could I please have a letter of introduction written up from Fulbright that lists all the statistics/etc. that I want access to. Ugh.
So I've fired off an email to the PAS section of the embassy to see what they can do for me - good thing I still have 6 weeks here.
