R is sick again, it seems like a milder form of the tummy problems he was having a few weeks ago. I'm guessing that his system was still weak and he fell prey to something similar either from the water or the large amount of guesting we've been doing. He had a little qatiq this morning that I bought from the milk woman, and I'm boiling turkey bones for soup. I've also gone and bought antibiotics incase it looks like it's getting serious.

Not sure what this is going to do to our Horezm trip plans.

dcicuto - do you have any bright ideas for boosting R's immune system?

On a positive note, we got a package from iyindo!!! She rocks like a big rocky thing! I am now the only person in all of Uzbekistan in possetion of 1 and half pounds of reeses peanut butter cups....uh make that 1.49 lbs ;)

Well, there's nothing I could send you that would actually make it over there, so I'll tell you a few herbs you could look for, even though you might not find them: Astragalus, Reishi, Ginseng, Cordyceps (that last one is VERY expensive). If you can find any of them, that would be great but a combination would be the best. Also, Royal Jelly (from bees) - that might be your best bet as long as they have bees in Uzbekistan. Put a demitasse spoonful (as in, not much at all) in a glass of water and drink it. It's very sour but it supposedly works very well on the immune system.I keep forgetting to take mine, so I can't say how well it works.

Tell R to feel better.

thanks for the tips. I've started him on a cycle of antibiotics that should kill it if it is bacterial (or typhoid).

There is a large Korean population here, so I'm thinking I might be able to find ginseng or royal jelly. I'll keep my eyes out at the korean groceries.

Thanks!!! Its so handy to have a healer on my friends list :)

well I went out looking for ginseng today - there are 2 korean stores I know of. One wasn't open and the other only had ginseng soap. He said the other place might have it, so I'll keep hoping :)

Mmmmm. Peanut Butter Cups. Yummy! :)

Congrats on Chapter 1, BTW! I've been so busy I haven't had much time to comment to anyone's journals!
