Well shit, I just got a rejection email from the SSRC. That means that UCLA's dissertation fellowship is the only one left to hope for. Crap! Lets hope one of these jobs comes through, if the fellowships don't.

Thanks, I just finished an online application for U. of Sheffield, and re-read my advisor's email to me where he told me he'd help me find a job either with the dept. or with the Folklife Center in Washington if nothing came through. That at least let me bide some time before waking R up with bad news.

Well, at least the waiting is almost over.
