The internet here is pretty slow, but I wanted to add one more update about Dushanbe.
I'm really glad we came. We've met some very sweet and knowledgable people, have seen absolutely stellar mountains, and have gotten to hear a lot of amazing music. Plus we've had really yummy indian food every day for lunch. That's something I won't even be able to find in PA when we get back to the states, much less in Tashkent.
There are a few things I could do without - mostly the fleas. The room that we are staying in, especially the beds, are infested. R, being the bite-immune/non-itchy guy that he is, has a whopping 3 bites. I have hundereds - really. I look like a leper. They've basically covered my legs with bites (worse than when Xander got fleas, if that is imaginable), and have now moved on to my torso and arms. Itchy doesn't even begin to describe it. I guess this is what we get for not paying $50 a night for a hotel....it might have been worth it.
