I like reading the mercola blog on health issues, I agree with a lot of what he has to say, especially about the FDA and prescription drug approval.

today, however, he posted about a new study linking living in areas with litter, graffitti, and less open space and obesity. He claims that people should live in greener, better areas, to which I say DUH!!! The connection that he fails to make is that poor=fat more often than not in our society. A healthy diet is too expensive for alot of people in this whacked out society. Face it, until vegetables and whole grains are cheaper than McDonalds, twinkies, and top ramen, poor people will be malnourished and fat. The root of the issue is not obesity/health, it is the ever widening chasm between rich and poor.
