I just checked the weather for Eugene, OR (where I'm heading this weekend), and it is 23 degrees out right now! It's suppose to warm up to the 50s during the day, which is still going to feel pretty cold to me in all my LA-acclimated, thin-blooded splendor. Plus I'm fighting a head cold, which is going to make me extra wimpy and succeptible to feeling cold. Oh well, I'm sure there will be enough beer and pinball to take my mind off of both.
I also just ordered a whole bunch of full scores on half.com for upcoming things. I was trying to think of the last time I bought scores for anything, and it has been years. Used purchasing online made it much cheaper than I remember. Counting shipping, I got four volumes of scores (Brandeburgs, Handel Concerti Grossi, Watermusic, and Vivaldi flute (and other) concerti) for $30. Many of the scores were Norton publications (the cheap and cheerful publisher for non-music geeks), but still I'm amazed at the bargains. I'd go a little more crazy with this stuff if I had the space to store more books. There were no internet bargain purchasing sites when I did my undergrad and I remember cringing at the prices of scores during my undergrad, especially of French stuff if memory serves.
