composer cuteness for valentine's day

Most of you know that I am a valentines scrooge and do not observe the holiday, and I realize that for the past few years I've been treating you all to rants about the evils of such a misguided and consumer oriented holiday. This is not one of those posts (believe it or not).
I saw something in my department office that made me giggle this morning. On the front dest there is a series of busts of famous composers arranged in a semi circle and the office ladies decorate them about once a month around various themes (in june they all have mortar boards for graduation, etc). Well today I walked in and they all had little cupid wings with hearts and silliness and it made me giggle. Something about a very stern bust of Bach in fluffy wings and hearts just made me happy.

I decided to make Valentine's day my excuse to buy myself flowers and chocolates and to get my hand henna-ed up. It's a way overcommercialized thing, I agree, so I just let it be a way to make February more fun. It's relieving the doldrums of the mid-quarter. :) Well, and my parents are coming down next weekend, and we're going to dinner at a really nice restaurant. :)
