beard papa sweets cafe

I had lunch at the Japanese curry place on Sun. that is on Sawtelle near Olympic. In the same shopping center I saw the name of an establishment that was so compelling that I just had to go in - it was the "Beard Papa Sweets Cafe," and the sign included of course a guy with a beard (who is presumably a papa). Inside I saw that it is a bakery cafe thing, but it's primary output is what they claim as "the worlds best cream puffs."

So of course I had to have one.

And they have FLAVORS :) Chocolate and Vanilla are the normal ones, but Sun. and Mon.'s special flavor was green tea. So of course I had to have a green tea flavored cream puff. And it was good, the cream was VERY green tea-y.

bellebonnesage, any chance you want to do a Thurs. sushi lunch at some point and top things off with beard papa cream puffs? Thursday is caramel day, and I just can't get it out of my head.

I've seen that cafe before. Didn't do me any good because of the cream puffness. But I'm glad someone I care about gets to enjoy it.

BTW, I had lemon cream ice cream last night that I think you would like. Kinda meringue-like. We shall have to paint the town when you get here.

Sounds good - there should be much town painting, especially when the courthouse business is over :)
