Dear Prospective Graduate Student,
When emailing a professor with whom you have never spoken or had any contact, it is advisable to spell check your email and make sure that you spell the word "I" with a capital letter. You've applied to our graduate program, which indicates your desire to be a professional in your field, so please act like it.
Text message etiquette is not the same as professional email etiquette, no matter how enthusiastic one is.
