A while ago I went to a knitting convention with [livejournal.com profile] kethryvis and splurged on some lace weight 70% merino wool/30% possum yarn (that's right -- possum). It has been the most pleasant thing that I have ever knit with and gave me a chance to try a new lace stitch -- vine stitch.

My new awesome possum scarf is blocking on a towel on my living room floor and it makes me squee with joy to see a project this fun to the very end. Even my cats are being reverent (so far) and going around it.

I've already ordered more possum yarn....I'm such a dork.

Can't wait to see pix of your scarf! Lace knitting is so magical.

You are so good to actually block - I'm too impatient - I steam and wear! But I think possum, and vine stitch deserve the royal treatment for sure.

I'm using a silk-cashmere for my lace shawl and using size 1 needles because the yarn has no bloom and lots of drape.

What size needles did you use? Can you work up the possum with a pretty open fabric? Does it bloom like mohair?

Pix soon, please!!!!
