Wish I could call up on dream eaters for last night's dream. I really don't tend to remember my dreams unless they are filled with anxiety.

In real life, today is the day that the entire faculty meet to discuss all the grad students and send us nasty letters otherwise known as evaluations. Even when one has a banner year (like I did last year), there is always something included in the evaluation to make you feel small and worthless.

In my dream last night I conflated the evaluation meeting with my dissertation proposal defense, so I was sitting in front of a panel of the ENTIRE faculty with everyone trashing my work. I sat and tried to defend myself while trembling in the silly leather office chair that was placed at the other end of a wide table between me and the uber-committee of the faculty. At the end of it they handed me a ream of paper stapled together with all the ways that my proposal didn't meet the mark. I woke up frantic and sweating and really wish that I could remember wet dreams instead of anxiety dreams.

iyindo is right - I need to relax! (Tell that to my subconscious)

All right I've just lit a St. Ursula candle to help me with scholarly endeavors. She is the patron saint of girls education and if I timed it right the candle should burn itself out right around when my proposal defense finishes.

I also invoked Athena as she's the only other education minded goddess I could think of.

Lets hope it brings me peace, serenity and success for the next week.
