I like brussel sprouts! I never knew - I thought that they were groady, since they always smelled and tasted like pungent, flaccid, over cooked little cabbages. Thank you [livejournal.com profile] iyindo and axo for the super seeekrut brussel sprout kung fu tip!

I went to the farmers market, bought half a pound, cooked them up with olive oil and salt and ate them all up - YUM! Can't wait to get more next week.

Also, it was great to see the two of them and show them my house and take them to my happy little Italian joint, even if I have discovered that a seasonal produce restaurants aren't quite as amazingly delectable in January.

Thanks for making the drive, guys. It was great to see you and get a huge dose of belly laughs.

They made me gag when I was a kid. What I discovered living on the commune is that they need to be FRESH to be yummy. Now I eat them but I have to grow them (easy) or the farmers market.

According to my friends, fresh and small is key with sprouts. I got mine from the farmers market and it was wonderful. I think I'll be having sprouts on Saturdays until they go out of season.
